This release marks a significant milestone for the distillery, as it is the first time they have finished their award-winning Straight Wheat Whiskey in French Limousine Cognac Casks.

A New Twist on a Classic

The Cask Finish Series is known for pushing the boundaries of flavor, and the Cognac Cask Finish Straight Wheat Whiskey is no exception. Master Blender Melinda Maddox has masterfully combined the delicate, sweet notes of Old Elk’s Straight Wheat Whiskey with the rich, complex flavors imparted by the Cognac casks. The result is a whiskey that offers layers of dark fruit, honeycomb, and subtle spice—a unique profile that is sure to intrigue both seasoned whiskey drinkers and newcomers alike.

The Cognac Cask Finish Straight Wheat Whiskey (47.5% ABV/95 Proof) starts its journey with six years of aging in American oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 to 12 months in French Limousine Cognac Casks. This careful aging process enhances the whiskey's natural sweetness with richer, deeper flavors, making it a standout in Old Elk’s growing portfolio.
