The Open Course Collection uses whisky exclusively from our unique straight-neck stills, starting the maturation process in American oak barrels and hogsheads. These are then finished in hand-selected first-sill Spanish oak casks, resulting in a whisky that captures the signature Loch Lomond single malt style of fruit, honey, and soft smoke.
Michael Henry says: ‘The whisky opens with a nose of toasted oak, crisp apple, a hint of ginger plus a subtle note of swirling vanilla. On the palate, rich toffee and sweet pineapple dance alongside zesty lemon and a touch of warming spice. The finish is luxuriously long leaning a lingering embrace of oak spice that gently mingles with wisps of soft smoke.’
