California Bourbon with a soul of the Pacific.
When a surfer from California met a cowboy from Australia a decade ago, friendship was born in an instant. Both lovers of fine Spirits and Central Coast of New South Wales, Rod Cegelsky and Hammer Marshall revitalized SLO Brew, one of the Golden State’s longest-standing brewpubs. For over thirty years, award-winning craft beers were created there and in 2012, first drops of Whiskey came out of the still. After seven years, Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills was established and American Whiskey started flowing. Their special move is cutting each Whiskey with purified and desalinated water from the Pacific - the ocean that links California and Australia. Quite poetic, really.
Rod & Hammer’s Straight Bourbon is a true American classic that spent two years in new American Oak barrels. The mash bill, concocted in the original Garden Street copper kettle, is 85% corn, contributing smooth sweetness to the deep amber Spirit. Your nose will appreciate sweet and smokey aromas while the Bourbon will wow your palate with flavors of caramel, vanilla, and roasted nuts.
