The Midway Distilling Company operated from 1916 to 1920 in Midway, KY, Kentucky’s first railroad town. Production was suspended due to wartime prohibition, which restricted the use of grains for food. Midway Distilling barrels were then bottled as medicinal spirits until 1924 when the distillery and its remaining inventory were destroyed by fire.
Dudley & Gratz Release
The northeast corner of Dudley and Gratz Streets was the original site of Midway Distilling Co. We combined techniques from the whiskey and wine industries to create an exciting marriage of a rye whiskey finished in a classic French Sauternes barrel. The added sweetness of the dessert wine barrel finish elevates this rye whiskey to new heights.
